To Observe Rather than be Reason

The raven perches and stares

As the social ones quarrel.

I see their emotions build

As they try to be the voice of reason.

But the raven only watches

And I see how they try to win by words.

So their powers are dead

And they cancel out each other.

The voice of reason

It comes to speak

To speak of its perspective

While others have their own.

But I, the raven only watches

While others figure out on their own.
